The police arrested two individuals, aged 30 and 37, as part of an investigation into the assault and injury of a 44-year-old man, which occurred yesterday shortly before midnight in Limassol.
According to the evidence under investigation, while the 44-year-old was at his home, he was attacked by his 37-year-old roommate and a second individual, aged 30. During the attack, the 37-year-old allegedly injured the 44-year-old with a knife.
The injured man was transported by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital, where he was found to have lacerations to the head and neck, as well as a nose injury, and was admitted for further treatment.
After evaluating the information, police officers located the 30-year-old man driving his vehicle in the Limassol area. During the subsequent search, a knife was found in his vehicle, and he was arrested for the flagrant offense of carrying a knife.
Shortly thereafter, the 37-year-old was also located in the Limassol district. During the search, a knife was also found in his possession; it was confiscated, and he was arrested for a flagrant offense.
The two suspects were taken into custody for the purposes of investigating the case, and they are expected to appear in court today for a hearing on their detention. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its investigation.
