The Meteorological Service has issued a yellow warning for heavy downpours expected to affect the island. The warning will be in effect from 9:00 p.m. tonight, Sunday, until 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
More specifically, a low-pressure system is expected to affect the region. Localized rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected tonight, initially in the west and north, while other areas may be affected later. Hail cannot be ruled out during thunderstorms. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and at times locally moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 18 degrees inland, around 20 degrees on the coast, and around 11 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected tomorrow. Hail is possible during thunderstorms. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, and the sea will be slightly rough to rough. Temperatures will reach around 28 degrees inland, on the southeastern and eastern coasts, 26 degrees on the rest of the coasts, and around 18 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tomorrow night, increased cloud cover in the west may bring isolated light rain. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, light, at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be slightly rough.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Temperatures will gradually drop slightly, hovering just below average for this time of year.
