Authorities are seeking answers following the legally mandated autopsy on the body in order to determine the exact cause of death of the unfortunate 75-year-old Erato Athanasiou, who was found dead 11 days after her disappearance on a forest road in the Paphos State Forest, 15 km from the spot where she was last seen.
The unfortunate Erato, we should recall, was found yesterday, Thursday, by a forest ranger, although efforts to locate her had been unsuccessful over the past few days during which an organized search and rescue operation was underway in the area.
As reported by Alpha’s correspondent in Paphos, Kostas Nanos, her clothes have been identified by her relatives; however, her scientific identification via DNA has not yet been completed.
Police and a medical examiner were called to the scene where the unfortunate woman was found to rule out the possibility of foul play. Meanwhile, DNA tests are expected to be completed for her official identification.
