The Police are informing the public that, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, a protest will be held by employees of the Support Programs of the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth.
Participants will gather at 9:30 a.m. at the PASYDY premises and will then march toward the Presidential Palace.
Due to the rally and march, traffic flow is expected to be temporarily disrupted on streets and in areas along the route, as well as in the vicinity of the Presidential Palace.
Police officers will be present in the area to implement the necessary security and traffic measures and to facilitate traffic flow.
The public is asked to avoid traveling through the affected areas whenever possible, to be patient, and to follow the instructions of police officers.
It should be noted that, pursuant to Law 151(I) of 2025 on Public Gatherings and Parades, the organizer of the assembly or parade is required to ensure its smooth and peaceful conduct, to cooperate with the local administrative authority within whose jurisdiction it takes place, or is expected to take place, with the Police and with the Officer in Charge designated as the liaison between the Police and the organizer, and to comply with their instructions.
Furthermore, this legislation authorizes the police, where deemed necessary, to impose restrictions on the assembly or parade, as well as to disperse it, especially when they cease to be peaceful, when they are held in violation of the imposed restrictions, when there is a risk of bodily harm to a person or damage to public or private property, and in the event of a spontaneous or emergency assembly or procession, when there is a failure to comply with the imposed restrictions.
Furthermore, in cases where there is reasonable suspicion that the assembly is about to become non-peaceful, due to the actions of a person, or in connection with the commission or possible commission of offenses by a person who conceals, disguises, or alters their features in such a way as to render them unrecognizable, the Police may order that person to remove the object, product, or device in question that renders them unrecognizable.
