The National Guard is holding a rehearsal for the major military parade on October 1, marking the proclamation of the Republic of Cyprus.
In recent hours, the skies over Nicosia have seen aircraft flying in the area above Strovolos and the surrounding regions.

It should be noted that there is no cause for concern, since, as the General Staff of the National Guard announced on Monday, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., low-altitude flights will take place over Nicosia, as part of rehearsals for the military parade marking the 66th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Cyprus on October 1.
The flyovers are part of the scheduled preparations for the parade, and there is no cause for concern among the public.
