Concerns about the future of the flora and fauna in the Lady’s Mile protected area, due to intense nighttime activity involving loud music and lighting that takes place almost daily, according to the organizations BirdLife and Terra Cypria.
The TV show “Alpha Enimerosi” and journalist Olga Konstantinou conducted an on-site investigation at the beach today, where the heads of the organizations, Melpo Apostolidou and Koulla Michael, complained that due to the current situation, turtles are no longer coming ashore to lay eggs, while the bird nests in the adjacent park have been emptied.
Apostolidou and Michael called on the British Bases to enforce the relevant legislation, under whose jurisdiction the area falls, while explaining that low-impact human activity does not affect the environment.
