The Police—specifically the Narcotics Control Service and the Customs Department—as part of their cooperation and efforts to identify individuals who smuggle drugs into the Republic, have seized quantities of cannabis with a total gross weight of 685 grams and a large number of packages of products, weighing a total of 6 kilograms and 248 grams, believed to contain narcotic substances, which they discovered following an inspection of two postal packages, as well as at a store in the Limassol district.
Members of the Drug Enforcement Agency proceeded to arrest the 30-year-old recipient of the two packages and owner of the store, as well as a 23-year-old woman who, during the investigation, was found working at the 30-year-old’s store, where a large number of packages containing narcotic substances were also discovered.

The substances that were detected and seized are believed to contain dangerous synthetic narcotics, the consumption of which is likely to cause serious adverse effects on human health.
The two postal packages were inspected by the Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN) and the Customs Department on July 9, following their arrival at Larnaca Airport from another European country. Inside, authorities found quantities of cannabis and a large number of product packages believed to contain narcotic substances such as cannabis. Specifically, the following were found:
- 20 containers labeled “T9HC Flower,” containing dried cannabis plant material with a total weight of 60 grams,
- 300 packages containing a total of 300 cigarettes filled with dried cannabis plant material, with a total weight of 300 grams,
- 200 packages, each containing one gram of dried cannabis plant material, with a total weight of 200 grams,
- 125 packages, each containing one gram of dried cannabis plant material, with a total weight of 125 grams,
- 20 packages of CBD and cannabis tea, with a total weight of 600 grams,
- 5 packages of cannabis coffee containing cannabis extract, with a total weight of 300 grams
- 48 packages labeled “Premium T9HC,” containing 48 vape devices, each with 1 ml of liquid containing a controlled substance, with a total weight of 48 ml,
- 12 packages labeled “CANNABIS GUMMIES,” containing 50-gram gummy candies, with a total weight of 2 kilograms and 400 grams,
- 12 packages labeled “CANNABIS CHEWING GUM,” containing chewing gum, with a total weight of 204 grams, and
- 10 packages labeled “CANNABIS COOKIE,” containing 50-gram cookies, with a total weight of 500 grams
A court arrest warrant was issued against the 30-year-old man identified as the recipient of the packages. He was located and arrested yesterday by members of the YKAN.
Later yesterday, YKAN officers conducted a search of a store owned by the 30-year-old in the Limassol district, in his presence, as well as in the presence of a 23-year-old woman who was found working at the store. Products believed to contain narcotic substances such as cannabis were found in the store. Specifically, the following were found:
- 18 packages labeled “CANNABIS GUMMIES,” containing 50-gram bags of gummies, with a total weight of 900 grams,
- 19 packages labeled “THC,” each containing five 4-gram chocolates, with a total weight of 380 grams,
- 4 containers labeled “CBN + THC,” each containing 10 gummies, with a total weight of 184 grams,
- chocolate bars weighing grams, labeled “THC,” with a total weight of 300 grams,
- 12 packages containing vape devices with 1 ml of THC, with a total weight of 12 ml,
- 2 packages labeled “THC,” containing chocolate brownies, with a total weight of 120 grams,
- 3 packages of CANNABIS COOKIES, with a total weight of 300 grams,
- 4 containers of cannabis resin, with a total weight of 4 grams, and
- a precision scale with traces of green dried plant material
The 30-year-old man and the 23-year-old woman appeared today before the Limassol District Court, which granted the police’s request and issued a five-day detention order for the purpose of investigating charges of importation, possession, and possession of narcotics with the intent to supply them to another person, as well as money laundering.
The YKAN (Limassol District Unit) is continuing its investigation.
