New quantities of narcotics were discovered in Limassol during a search, as part of an investigation into a case of illegal drug possession for which two individuals, aged 28 and 23, were arrested on July 2, 2026, and are currently in custody.
As part of the investigation into the case and based on an evaluation of evidence, following a tip from members of the Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN), members of the Limassol British Bases Police conducted a search on the same day in an area controlled by the British Bases.
During the search, the following items were found:
- Cocaine with a total gross weight of one kilogram and 982 grams
- Cannabis with a total gross weight of 8 kilograms and 933 grams
- Cannabis resin with a total gross weight of 100 grams
- Methamphetamine weighing 4.7 grams
Following a request by the Cypriot authorities to the authorities of the British Bases, the seized narcotics were handed over to the Cyprus Anti-Narcotics Agency (YKAN) today by members of the British Bases Police for further examination.
The 28-year-old and the 23-year-old were re-arrested pursuant to court warrants and are expected to appear before the Limassol District Court tomorrow morning for proceedings to issue detention orders against them.
