The Police, as part of efforts to combat serious and organized crime and prevent criminal acts, arrested a 57-year-old man today after discovering a handgun, cartridges, explosive devices, quantities of drugs, and a large sum of money.
The police have released photographs of the items found in the possession of the 57-year-old Greek Cypriot.

Specifically, during a search operation conducted today at the 57-year-old’s residence, premises, and vehicles in the Larnaca district by the Larnaca CID, the Larnaca Narcotics Unit, and the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit—following an assessment and investigation of intelligence—a pistol, seven fully loaded cartridges, homemade explosive devices, a quantity of gunpowder, 70 grams of cocaine, 210 grams of cannabis, five grams of cannabis resin, two packages of cannabidiol (CBD), and two precision scales. In addition, a sum of 40,000 euros was seized for further investigation.
The 57-year-old is in custody and is expected to appear in court tomorrow, where the police will request that a detention order be issued against him.
The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department, the Larnaca Narcotics Unit, and the Larnaca Police Department are continuing their investigation into the case.
