It was a miracle that there were no casualties on Monday night in Limassol, when two balconies of an apartment building collapsed in the Fysco area, causing major disruption and prompting a response from the relevant authorities.
According to initial reports, one balcony of the apartment building collapsed first, which then fell onto a second balcony, causing that one to collapse as well.
The collapse of the balconies also caused property damage; as seen in photos from the scene, large chunks of concrete landed on a parked vehicle, crushing it.

Members of the Fire Department rushed to the scene and secured the area, while other relevant authorities were also present. The causes of the collapse are under investigation.
This latest balcony collapse in Limassol adds to a series of similar incidents that have been recorded recently, raising serious concerns and putting the relevant authorities on high alert.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries so far.
