It’s like a “lobster trap” in anticipation of the simultaneous protest events planned by hunters and members of environmental and activist organizations.
The demonstrations will take place while the Parliamentary Committee on the Environment is meeting to discuss the issue raised by ELAM MPs Linos Papagiannis and Linos Hatzigeorgiou, titled: “The impact of the actions of certain activist organizations and activists operating in the environmental sector and an assessment of the need to take measures to address this phenomenon.”
Authorities have already closed Nehru Street to traffic and have installed barriers and police tape, while police patrol cars have been deployed at the scene.
A squad from the Motorized Rapid Response Unit (MMAD) is also on site to prevent incidents and any disturbances.
