The police arrested two individuals, aged 29 and 21, as part of an investigation into a case involving the illegal possession of drugs for the purpose of distribution and the laundering of proceeds from illegal activities.
Specifically, members of the Anti-Narcotics Service (YKAN), after evaluating a tip, stopped a vehicle in Kato Paphos late yesterday afternoon in which the two individuals were traveling.
Following a search conducted by police officers, 3 grams of cannabis, 0.5 of methamphetamine, and €700 in cash, and they were arrested for offenses committed in the act.
In a subsequent search of the two individuals’ residence, the following were also found and seized:
- 1 gram of cocaine
- 10 grams of methamphetamine
- 73 Captagon tablets
- 197 grams of cannabis
- €4,250 in cash
The suspects are expected to appear before the Paphos District Court today for a detention order to be issued.
The Paphos Narcotics Unit is continuing its investigation.
