The fire that broke out at noon at a factory in the Aradippou industrial area has been contained within the factory premises, with the active fire front remaining in the western part of the facility, where efforts to fully extinguish the fire are continuing.
The operation is being coordinated by the forward command post in the area and the Crisis Management Center at Fire Department Headquarters. Four firefighters required medical attention due to heat exhaustion, smoke inhalation, and dizziness, but their lives are not in danger. The exact causes of the fire will be investigated once the scene is deemed safe.

Fears that people were trapped were dispelled, as all employees were evacuated in time, while firefighters continue to battle the last active hot spots, having prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring facilities.
The fire broke out in a frozen food distribution warehouse serving the Larnaca district. According to information from CNA, staff reported a problem with freezer 1, which was located inside the facility, with the compressor being the most likely point of origin. The fire spread rapidly to the remaining seven freezers and to the warehouse’s packing area, where frozen fish, meat, vegetables, and other food products were stored.
Initial reports raised concerns that workers might be trapped, however, after the police, in cooperation with the business owner, accounted for the staff, it was confirmed that everyone had evacuated the factory in time.
Seven fire trucks, a hydraulic telescopic platform, a breathing apparatus vehicle, EMAK forces, and a water tanker from the Forestry Department. The goal was also to protect neighboring factories, which appears to have been achieved, although potential damage from the intense heat and thick smoke will be assessed in the coming hours.
