As part of the actions and operations carried out by the National Agency for Combating Drugs (YKAN) at airports, in cooperation with the Customs Department, to detect and seize narcotic substances, customs officers discovered, on September 10 and 11, 2026, two suspicious packages in a temporary air cargo storage facility at Larnaca Airport. The packages originated from third countries.
Upon inspection, the packages were found to contain a total of ten packages of green, dried cannabis plant material, weighing a total of 5 kilograms and 798 grams.
The packages were initially seized by Customs authorities and subsequently taken into custody by the YKAN for the purpose of investigating the cases.
The YKAN (Limassol Unit) is continuing its investigation.
