A new scam in the name of the… nonexistent “Cyprus Ministry of Applications.”

A letter from the… nonexistent “Cyprus Ministry of Applications”—promising to resolve neighborhood issues—via the “Rockup Messenger” app, which the user was instructed to download using a QR code. Scanning the QR code appears to prompt the user to pay a sum of money.

It should be noted that there is no “Ministry of Apps” in Cyprus, and citizens are urged to ignore the letter, which is a scam.

The TV show “Alpha Kalimera” notified the police about this new scam so that citizens can be properly informed.
