Dozens of Cypriot fans and friends of Giorgos Mazonakis gathered at the Holy Church of the Holy Trinity in Nikaia to say their final “goodbye” to the popular singer, who “passed away” last Wednesday at the age of 54.

The eulogy delivered by Metropolitan Alexios of Nikaia, who presided over the funeral service for the beloved artist and who “borrowed” lyrics from the artist’s own song “I Want to Go Back to the Old Days.”

From early in the morning, a large crowd had gathered in the church courtyard and the surrounding area to pay tribute to the distinguished singer. Wreaths of pure white flowers and messages of love filled the churchyard.
