The Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance is moving forward with a call for applications for 45 fixed-term positions to implement the pension reform.
As reported in the Official Gazette of the Republic, published on Friday, the Ministry has announced five positions for the role of Social Insurance Officer (Grades A8–10–11) and 40 positions for the duties of Assistant Social Security Officer (Grades A2–A5 – A7(ii)), for a period of 28 months within the Social Insurance Services of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance.

It should be noted that these officers will be involved in the implementation of the “Pension Reform” project.
The Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Marinos Mousiouttas, had previously announced the job openings in his statements.
Regarding the officer positions, which require a university degree, it is noted that those hired will be assigned to Social Insurance Services offices in Nicosia. For the position of Assistant Insurance Officer, those hired will be assigned to Social Insurance Services offices throughout Cyprus, depending on the needs of the Services.
According to the announcement, employment will be for a period of up to 28 months to implement the pension reform project. The base salary will be at the entry level of Scale A8 for the position of Officer and Scale A2 for the position of Assistant Insurance Officer, reduced as specified in the applicable annual Budget Law. To this will be added any approved increase and the cost-of-living allowance in effect during the period of employment.
It should be noted that the hiring of 5 fixed-term employees to perform the duties of a Social Security Officer and of 40 fixed-term employees to perform the duties of an AssistantInsurance Officer will be subject to the approval of the relevant provision in Article 17 of the budget by the House of Representatives.
