A new Erasmus+ project, co-funded by the European Union, brings together universities, news agencies, and media organizations from Greece, Portugal, France, and Cyprus. Its goal is to train journalists to use artificial intelligence responsibly in news reporting.
We live in an era where journalism is being redefined by technology. Artificial Intelligence is changing the way news is produced and disseminated, creating real opportunities and tangible risks. Newsrooms that want to remain credible and resilient in the face of change need journalists with new skills, who combine the efficiency and speed of Artificial Intelligence while promoting the independent journalism on which democracy is built.
This is where iNews comes in. The project trains journalists to use Artificial Intelligence with confidence, adhering to the code of ethics and enhancing their daily reporting. It creates an open community of professionals from newspapers, television, radio, and news websites who learn together, regardless of how familiar they are with the technology.
What iNews
- an AI Bootcamp for intensive, hands-on training
- a specialized chatbot to support trainees
- a podcast series on the biggest challenges facing journalism today
