The Board of Directors of the Larnaca EOA, where 30-year-old Giorgos Georgiou—who “was struck down” on the asphalt, was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors of the Larnaca EOA, where the unfortunate motorcyclist worked. As stated in an announcement, as a minimal gesture of respect in his memory and practical support for his family, the Larnaca EOA has decided:
- That the entire Board of Directors will attend the funeral service.
- That the President of the Larnaca EOA will lay a wreath.
- To make a donation in his memory.
- To support the family of the deceased.
- That the funeral expenses be covered.
- That the Organization’s flags be flown at half-mast until the day of the funeral.
“The Larnaca District Local Government Organization mourns the tragic and unexpected loss of one of its own, Giorgos Georgios (Petros), a worthy and beloved colleague who served with integrity, consistency, and dedication. George joined the former Larnaca Water Supply Board in 2021 as an hourly-wage worker and subsequently joined the Larnaca Public Utility Authority (EOA). Throughout his career, he distinguished himself through his hard work, responsibility, knowledge, and skills, earning the respect of his colleagues.”

“His loss fills the entire family of the Organization with deep sorrow,” it is emphasized, while “above all, however, George was a young family man, a husband, and the father of two children.”
