A fire broke out in dry grass, wild vegetation, and carob trees outside the Sfalangiotissa Cemetery in Limassol.

Three fire trucks are on the scene, while two fully loaded firefighting aircraft, which were called in while on patrol, carried out precautionary water drops.

The organized volunteer groups SupportCY and ATLAS are also assisting in the firefighting operation.

According to Fire Department spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the fire has been contained and, based on initial indications, is considered manageable.

The cause will be investigated once the fire has been completely extinguished.
