The three young men appear to have set up an ambush for the 21-year-old food delivery driver in Limassol.
The incident occurred early Wednesday morning when the 21-year-old delivery driver, who was riding his vehicle, was stopped by three young men riding scooters.
The perpetrators opened the driver’s door, pulled him out of the car, and beat him. They then stole €1,800 from the car’s glove compartment and fled the scene.
The 21-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he was found to have facial injuries; after receiving first aid, he was subsequently discharged.
As reported by Erica Kavazi on the “Alpha News” program, the three perpetrators appear to have followed the 21-year-old, believing him to be a drug dealer, and ambushed him in the early morning hours.
As for the €1,800 the young man had in his vehicle, part of it appears to have been his own money, though this is also under investigation.
Meanwhile, authorities are searching for closed-circuit footage, and the investigation to identify the perpetrators is ongoing.
