Police arrested a 19-year-old man early this morning as part of an investigation into a case involving the offenses of possession of burglary tools during the night, reckless and dangerous driving, driving without a license, driving without proof of insurance, using an impounded vehicle, and failure to comply with a police officer’s signal.
Specifically, around 9:00 p.m. last night, members of the Paphos Traffic Police, while on patrol, spotted a vehicle in the Paphos area repeatedly performing dangerous maneuvers and skidding, endangering other road users.

Police officers signaled the driver to pull over for a check, but he failed to comply and accelerated, attempting to flee, resulting in a pursuit of the vehicle.
The pursued vehicle ended up on a dead-end street, where the driver and his two passengers abandoned it and fled on foot, leaving the engine running.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed various burglary tools.
Subsequent investigations led to evidence against a 19-year-old, who was arrested around 1:00 a.m. The suspect was brought before the Paphos District Court today, which issued a two-day detention order against him.
The Paphos Criminal Investigation Department and Traffic Police are continuing their investigation.
