The decision to draw up a specific roadmap to address the outstanding issues at each stage was made today, Wednesday, at the third consecutive meeting on the licensing of stadiums where soccer matches are held, chaired by the Minister of Justice and Public Order and attended by representatives of thePolice, the Stadium Licensing Authority, the Cyprus Sports Organization, and the Cyprus Football Federation.
A Ministry announcement states that the Stadium Licensing Authority will take responsibility for implementing the roadmap, in consultation with the CFF and the COS, so that the issues identified can be resolved as soon as possible. It should be noted that the licenses for some stadiums expire on August 31, while others remain valid for a longer period.
The Ministry of Justice and Public Order and the Police, it is reported, will monitor, within the scope of their respective responsibilities, the implementation of whatever decisions are made.
At the same time, it was decided that the Police will not provide security for matches held in stadiums that do not meet basic safety requirements.
