A fire broke out at a landfill in the occupied village of Koutsoventi for reasons that have not yet been clarified, according to Turkish Cypriot media reports.
At the same time, thick smoke from the fire is visible even from the free areas.

According to the Turkish Cypriot media outlet Kibris Gazetesi, the fire, which broke out around 8:30 a.m., is being tackled by “firefighting crews” as well as construction equipment from a private company.
The perimeter of the fire has been secured, and efforts to extinguish it are continuing.
