Another serious incident of domestic violence has been reported in the occupied territories, with a man accused of beating his wife in the occupied village of Mia Milia, causing her, among other injuries, a ruptured eardrum in her left ear.
According to the Turkish Cypriot online press and the “police,” the incident occurred on July 17, when, following a verbal altercation inside their home, the suspect allegedly struck his wife in various parts of her body and slapped her twice on the left ear.
The complaint was filed on August 10, and the man was arrested the same day. During his appearance before the “court,” he stated that he regretted his actions.
“Judge” Zehra Yalkut Bilgec ruled that the suspect be released pending “trial,” with a ban on leaving the occupied territories, a cash bail of 100,000 Turkish lira, and two guarantors, each of whom signed guarantees totaling 700,000 lira.
