The Meteorological Service has issued a new yellow warning for temperatures in the 40s, with the weather pattern set to change on Saturday.

On Saturday, there will be a noticeable drop in temperature, with rain and thunderstorms expected.

Here is the detailed forecast:

A seasonal low-pressure system is affecting the region, and on Saturday, a disturbance from the north is expected to impact the island.

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear, though at times—and especially along the coast—there will be increased low-level cloud cover. Later on and during the early morning hours, patchy fog or mist is expected to form locally, mainly in eastern and inland areas. Winds will gradually become downslope and locally variable, light, at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 21 degrees inland, around 23 degrees along the coast, and around 20 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tomorrow, after the local low cloud cover and light fog or mist clear, the weather in most areas will become generally clear with temporary increases in local cloud cover; however, after noon in the mountains and possibly in some inland areas, clouds are expected to develop, bringing isolated showers, and isolated brief thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Winds in the morning will be variable, light, 3 Beaufort, gradually shifting to mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily in the southwest this afternoon reaching strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will reach around 40 degrees inland, around 32 degrees on the western and southwestern coasts, around 34 on the rest of the coast, and around 30 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tomorrow night, the weather will be mostly clear, though at times—and especially along the coast—there will be increased low-level cloud cover. Later, during the early morning hours, patchy fog or mist is expected to form locally, mainly in eastern and inland areas. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and gradually becoming light, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to slightly rough.

On Friday, the weather will be generally mostly clear with temporary increases in local cloud cover; however, after noon in the mountains and possibly in some inland areas, may bring isolated showers. Temperatures will not change significantly, remaining above normal for this time of year.

On Saturday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected. These conditions, particularly in the eastern half of the island, may be intense or even prolonged. Temperatures will drop significantly and fall below normal levels for this time of year.

On Sunday, the weather will initially be mostly clear; however, after noon, localized cloud cover is expected to bring isolated showers or even isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains, though they cannot be ruled out in inland and eastern areas as well. Temperatures will rise slightly but will remain below normal for this time of year.
