The Ministry of Justice and Public Order has no preference for any specific candidate for the position of Director of the Central Prison, the Ministry clarifies, rejecting reports or speculation regarding a predetermined decision or a “locked-in” choice.

In a statement regarding today’s news report, the Ministry states that the process of filling the position is ongoing and is being conducted by the competent authorities in accordance with the applicable legal framework and established procedures.

It also emphasizes that it has no authority to evaluate or select candidates and does not interfere, in any way, with the process. Therefore, it notes that reports or assessments regarding a predetermined decision, a “fixed” selection, or the Ministry’s preference for a specific candidate “do not correspond to reality.”

According to the Ministry, all candidates are evaluated exclusively on the basis of the established criteria and the statutory procedure, while a candidate’s previous professional status or background does not constitute grounds for preferential treatment or differential treatment.

The Ministry of Justice and Public Order states that it fully respects the independence and authority of the relevant institutional bodies and will fully respect the outcome of the process, whatever that may be.

“Meritocracy, transparency, and equal treatment of candidates are ensured through the faithful application of the institutional framework and respect for the process until its completion,” it concludes.
