The police maintained a strong presence and carried out intensive operations throughout Cyprus last night, conducting organized patrols at key locations in urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order, and increasing the public’s sense of security.
These preventive policing operations resulted in the arrest of eight individuals for various offenses, including brawling and illegal residence.
During the night, 473 vehicles were stopped for inspection, and 617 drivers and passengers were checked. At the same time, 44 property inspections were conducted, resulting in one complaint.
During traffic stops, 305 citations were issued for various traffic violations, 119 of which were for speeding. A total of 120 breathalyzer tests were conducted, with two positive results, as well as four preliminary drug tests, with one positive result. In addition, as part of the police operations, six vehicles were impounded.
Law enforcement operations, aimed at preventing and suppressing crime, continue daily, with an increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
