Regarding the Open Call for Expressions of Interest for the participation of adults with disabilities (PWD) in specialized vocational education and training programs, the Post-Secondary Institutes of Vocational Education and Training (MIEEK), noting that applications will be accepted until September 21.
According to today’s announcement by the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth, the goal of these special programs is to create an accessible, supportive, and inclusive learning environment through which individuals with disabilities will have the opportunity to develop and strengthen their knowledge, skills, and abilities, in accordance with their specific characteristics and needs.
Each case will be examined on an individual basis, with the aim of appropriately designing the educational path for each person concerned.
The assessment will take into account, among other things: the individual’s personal and professional interests, their educational and support needs, their prior knowledge and skills, their current abilities and potential, their expectations and goals regarding participation in a program, as well as any other factors deemed relevant to their appropriate and meaningful participation in the training.
This process aims to best match each individual’s needs, interests, and level with the appropriate educational content and necessary support arrangements.
Adults with disabilities who are interested in participating in the special MIEEK programs are invited to submit an expression of interest.
After submitting the application, the standard evaluation process for each case will follow, in order to document and take into account the interests, needs, prior knowledge and skills, and educational goals of each applicant.
According to the announcement, submitting an expression of interest does not automatically result in enrollment or guarantee a spot in a specific program.
Participation and the appropriate educational choice will be determined after the completion of the individualized assessment and based on the programs’ capacity and available spots.
This call is directed at adults with disabilities who wish to participate in specialized MIEEK programs and acquire or enhance their knowledge and skills in a suitably adapted and supportive learning environment.
