A fire broke out on Thursday afternoon, shortly after 4:00 p.m., in an outbuilding in the yard of a private residence in the community of Liopetri, in the Famagusta district.
The Famagusta Fire Stations “Sergeant Adamou Adamou” and Xylofagos Rural Fire Stations responded to the scene with two fire trucks, and the fire was brought under control at 4:53 p.m.
The building and its contents sustained damage from the fire and the heat.
An ambulance was also called to the scene as a precaution, as the owner felt unwell while attempting to extinguish the fire, though she did not need to be transported to the hospital.
Following an investigation conducted in cooperation with the police, it was determined that the fire was caused by a minor’s carelessness.
