Police are investigating a suspicious death after a man’s body was found in the waters off Limassol.

According to the police, around 8:00 a.m., swimmers in the Enairio area spotted a man floating unconscious in the water and rushed to pull him ashore.

Police officers rushed to the scene, as did an ambulance, which transported the man to a private clinic, where he was pronounced dead. Police investigations revealed that the man was a 57-year-old foreign national originally from Russia.

The man had no visible injuries, and the cause of death will be determined by a legally mandated autopsy on his body, which will be performed at a later date.

The police are investigating the case as a suspicious death.
