He will request the lifting of his “parliamentary” “immunity” Erhan Arikli, the “transport minister” of the pseudo-state, following the shipwreck in Kyrenia, as he announced in a statement on social media.
As Arikli stated, the accident investigation team appointed by the Turkish Ministry of Transportation has arrived in the pseudo-state for the purpose of conducting an investigation.
He added that to ensure the smooth conduct of the investigation until its completion, “tomorrow we will submit a request to the ‘Prime Minister’s Office’ so that the ‘Port Authority’ may be detached from our ‘ministry’ and placed under the ‘Prime Minister’s Office’.”
He went on to state that, furthermore, if there is any legal or “judicial” liability on our part regarding the maritime accident, so that the “judicial authorities” may act freely and, if necessary, take my “testimony” and proceed with the legal proceedings, tomorrow I will address the “Parliament” and request the lifting of my “immunity.” I will also request that my request be discussed at the first extraordinary session of “parliament” to be held.
Meanwhile, the president of the “Association of Marine Tourism Entrepreneurs,” Faik Gencer, announced that departures from the Kyrenia harbor and marinas have been suspended.
Gencer stated: “It is important to inform all seafarers that they must comply with the decision that has been made.”
