The Meteorological Service has issued a new yellow warning for extremely high temperatures.
The warning is in effect from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
According to the Meteorological Service, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius in inland areas.

A seasonal low-pressure system is affecting the region.
Today, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to the northwest, initially light at force 3, gradually becoming light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the south this afternoon, strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 31 in the southwest and on the western coasts, around 34 degrees along the rest of the coast, and around 30 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, though increased low cloud cover is expected later along the coasts. Winds will be mainly light southwesterly to northwesterly at force 3, and initially locally moderate at force 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 21 degrees inland, around 23 degrees along the coast, and around 19 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear.
Temperatures will not change significantly through Thursday, remaining above average.
