Speaker of the House Anita Dimitriou, Viktoras Papadopoulos, Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic, and Averof Neophytou, former President of DISY, were among the crowd of relatives, friends, and colleagues who rushed to say their final “goodbye” to the pillar of Cypriot private television and journalism.

George Kaskanis, News Director at Alpha Cyprus, bid farewell to his close friend and colleague, praising his integrity, character, and dedication to the journalistic profession, and reflecting on the major milestones of his career in Cyprus and Greece.

Among other things, he noted that “no matter how many successes one has, if one does not leave a mark on people’s hearts, one has achieved nothing.”
“Life isn’t measured by years or age; it’s measured by how and to what extent each of us fills it. Tsalakos’s life wasn’t just full—it was overflowing. Even in death, he had the emotional intelligence to leave early, before death could have the chance to undermine his spirit.”

Alpha Cyprus, where Giorgos Tsalakos served as the first News Director, was represented at the funeral service by station executives George Theodotou and Petros Petrou, who offered their heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
