A 22-year-old man, who was wanted in connection with an investigation into an assault and riot that took place between August 23 and 24, 2026, at the auxiliary field of the “Famagusta” Stadium, where an event was held for fans of the Nea Salamina club.
The 22-year-old’s identifying information and photograph were released to the public by the police on August 30, 2026, with the aim of gathering information that could help locate him. Subsequently, shortly before 7:00 p.m. on August 30, 2026, the 22-year-old presented himself at the Larnaca CID offices, where he was arrested pursuant to a court warrant and taken into custody for police questioning.

The police are continuing their investigation to locate the other seven suspects, against whom arrest warrants have been issued, in order to investigate the case.
