The Department of Forests has created safe passageways for the Cypriot wild goat in the Paphos State Forest at a cost of €52,000.
Specifically, the Forestry Department successfully completed a major initiative to protect this iconic species of Cypriot wildlife.
“The project involved creating special openings in the guardrails along forest roads so that wild boars can move freely and safely without becoming trapped in the road network. The project had a total cost of approximately €52,000 and was co-financed by the Structural Funds.”
As noted, this intervention addressed a large portion of the remaining needs at these specific locations in the forest.
