A new shocking video has come to light, showing the ill-fated ship that sank off the coast of occupied Kyrenia taking on water last May.
In the video broadcast by Turkish Cypriot media, it appears to be a voyage from May 16. At one point, one of the passengers can be heard saying: “It’s taking on a lot of water; the water is coming from below,” with a crew member responding to the warning: “Brother, nothing will happen—keep going, don’t get wet. It’ll come later.”

Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Hacı Ali Özell, who is in the occupied territories for the second day, visited the crisis management office in Kyrenia yesterday and was briefed on the situation by “Prime Minister” Ünal Ustel, “Minister of Health” Hakan Dincurek, and others.
Here is what journalist Hatice Kerlo reported on the Alpha Kalimera show:
Mr. Özel visited Turkish citizens being treated in various hospitals and spoke with their relatives. He stated that efforts are continuing to meet the needs of the victims and citizens, to arrange for their transport to Turkey, and that they are ready to provide any other necessary support.
For the second consecutive night yesterday, following the shipwreck, search operations continued in the area with 8 ships, 9 boats, 1 aircraft, 7 helicopters, and 5 UAV drones. As announced yesterday by “Prime Minister” Ounal Ustel, a specialized search vessel capable of operating at depths of up to 1,000 meters is arriving today from Turkey to further bolster the search.
Today also marks the start of ferry services by the Akgüler company, as Filo Jet has completely suspended its own services. Also today, the private airline Pegasus has added four additional flights to its daily schedule, with subsidized ticket prices, to meet the travel needs of people moving between Turkey and the occupied territories.
