Tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, 2026, the traditional military parade, as part of the celebrations marking the 66th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Cyprus, in the presence of officials from Greece, the United Kingdom, Egypt, France, and the United States, as well as ambassadors and defense attachés from foreign countries.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense, the parade will be reviewed by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, flanked by the Minister of Defense, Vasilis Palmas, the Greek Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, the Commander of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou, and the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis.
It should be noted that the parade, which will be held in the presence of the public, will also be attended by the Chief of the Defense Staff of the United Kingdom, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, and representatives of the armed forces from Egypt, France, and the United States of America, as well as ambassadors and defense attachés from foreign countries and other dignitaries.
The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will take place on Joseph H’ Joseph Avenue, with the participation of motorized, infantry units, and aircraft from the National Guard, the Cyprus Police, the Fire Service, Civil Defense, the Forestry Department, and the Health Services.
As noted, the start of the parade will be preceded by a 21-gun salute.
