The “Police 2030” program, which aims to create a modern, flexible, and reliable European police force with strong operational capabilities, modern resources and infrastructure, and a workforce with the knowledge and skills required by today’s security environment, was presented on Friday to police directors and commanders by Police Chief, Themis Arnaoutis, presented to Police Directors and Commanders on Friday.

As stated in a police press release, following systematic planning, preparation, and evaluation, the Cyprus Police is proceeding with the organized implementation of the “Police 2030” Program, the comprehensive strategy for its modernization and organizational development in the coming years.

It should be noted that the program is structured around three strategic pillars: operational capability and effectiveness, human resources, and technology.

The first pillar focuses on strengthening the prevention and response to criminal threats and critical situations, while the second concerns the training of police officers, skills development, and the improvement of management procedures.

The third pillar includes upgrading information infrastructure, integrating systems, strengthening cybersecurity, and developing digital services.

Intelligence-Led Policing (Intelligence-Led Policing), which, according to the announcement, aims to systematically utilize intelligence and risk analyses to inform operational decisions and make more effective use of available resources.

A key component of the program is the Command, Control, and Communications Center (C3), the implementation of which is now beginning, with the aim of improving operational coordination, incident management, and communication with citizens, it is noted.

The new policing model also includes the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (DAOE), with the goal of strengthening the fight against serious and organized crime through modern analytical methods and targeted operational actions.

The Police also report that starting next week, presentations on the program will be held for its members to inform them about the priorities, projects, and changes being implemented.

In conclusion, it notes that the active participation of its members is a key factor in the success of the program, which aims to create a “modern, effective, and reliable police force, closer to the public and the needs of society.”
