A total of 3,113 spots are available at Cyprus’s public universities and Greece’s military academies through the 2026 Pan-Cyprus Entrance Exams, said Athina Michaelidou, Minister of Education, Sports, and Youth, during a press conference on Wednesday. A total of 4,969 candidates took the exams, while 5,142 had initially applied to participate. The exam results have been posted on the Ministry’s official website.
As Ms. Michaelidou stated, of the available spots, 1,590 are for the University of Cyprus, 1,382 to the Cyprus University of Technology, and 141 to the Military Academies of Greece.

The total number also includes the additional spots offered to graduates of Technical Schools, Evening Schools, and the Six-Year Gymnasium of Kato Pyrgos.
Ten candidates achieved top honors, securing an admission score of 20 per admission category, following the statistical processing of the results. It should be noted that the admission threshold scores apply only to universities in Cyprus and military academies in Greece.

Regarding the admission process to public universities in Greece, the Head of the Examination Service, Socrates Mylonas, stated that the Examination Service will announce each candidate’s General Admission/Ranking Score within the next few days.
He added that the allocation of spots at Greece’s public universities will be carried out by the Greek Ministry of Education in August.
It also clarified that when submitting an application for Greek universities, each candidate may select up to 20 departments from a single academic field.
Regarding male applicants who secured a spot at public universities in Cyprus, Mr. Mylonas stated that those who are unable to enroll during the 2026–2027 academic year due to military obligations must reserve their spot, in accordance with the procedures established by the academic institutions themselves.
He added that further guidelines for students admitted to universities in Cyprus are posted on the Ministry of Education and Culture’s website.
Referring to male conscripts who have secured a place at public universities in Greece, he said that their spots are being held by the Greek Ministry of Education until they fulfill their military obligations.
