A weak low-pressure system is affecting the region, while a weather disturbance from the west is expected to affect the island starting Sunday evening.
Today, the weather will initially be mostly clear with occasional increased cloud cover, however, it will gradually become partly cloudy and, in some areas, mostly cloudy, while isolated light showers cannot be ruled out in the mountainous areas. Winds will initially be variable and light, at 3 Beaufort, before gradually becoming mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily in the afternoon in the southwest, they may reach strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to slightly rough, though it will be slightly rough at times in the southwest this afternoon. Temperatures will rise to around 30 degrees inland, on the southern and eastern coasts, around 28 degrees along the western and northern coasts, and around 23 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tonight, there will be periods of increased local cloud cover. Winds will gradually become downslope, light—3 Beaufort—and the sea will be calm to slightly choppy. Temperatures will drop to around 18 degrees inland, around 20 degrees along the coast, and around 11 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
On Sunday, the weather will be partly cloudy and at times overcast, while isolated showers are expected after noon, mainly in the mountains. Late Sunday night into Monday, the weather is expected to worsen with local showers and isolated thunderstorms, initially in the west and north and gradually spreading to the rest of the country. Hail cannot be ruled out during thunderstorms, while winds will become variable and strengthen.
On Monday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected at times. Afternoon weather events will be concentrated mainly in the mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island. Hail cannot be ruled out during thunderstorms. Winds will gradually pick up significantly, particularly in coastal areas exposed to the wind. On Tuesday, the weather will remain mostly cloudy with local showers and isolated thunderstorms at times.
Temperatures will drop slightly through Monday, while on Tuesday they will remain largely unchanged, hovering slightly below the seasonal average.
