Work on the construction of the sewer system and the upgrade of the water supply network in the area near the Livadia settlement is proceeding according to schedule, announced the Larnaca District Local Government Organization, noting that the project, with a budget of over €1 million, is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, serving 170 homes and upgrading the area’s infrastructure.
The Authority’s announcement states that, after securing the necessary government funding, it “proceeded without delay to begin work on the construction of the sewer system and the upgrade of the water supply network in the area adjacent to the Livadia Settlement. Today, the work is proceeding according to schedule.”
It is added that “the total value of the project amounts to €1,042,798.16 plus VAT, and part of it is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Environment, following a decision by the Council of Ministers.”
It is also noted that “construction work began in June 2026 on Pavlos Liasidis Street, gradually following the project’s route, and completion is expected around the end of 2026. The project includes the construction of public sewer lines, public inspection chambers, and public building service connections for 170 residences within the boundaries of the Livadia community, as well as the upgrade of the water supply network.”
It is noted that “Upon completion of the project, the residences will be able to connect directly to the sewer system, as the new network will be connected to the existing and already operational sewer network. This will address the problems of sewage overflow and nuisances observed in the area, enhancing environmental protection and ensuring better public health conditions.”
At the same time, “the replacement of all connections and a section of the distribution pipes in the water supply network will help reduce water losses and improve the quality of the water supply,” the report notes.
