A fire covering an area of one hectare, involving dry grass and wild vegetation, in the “Argo Kalamos” area, near the community of Goudi in the Paphos district, which broke out today at 8:15 a.m., was brought under control at 10:05 a.m. The fire was contained and did not threaten any individual homes in the area.
Five fire trucks from the Paphos District Fire Stations were deployed to extinguish the fire, while two aerial firefighting aircraft carried out successive water drops.
The Fire Service was supported by the Forestry Department, with two fire trucks and a leased earthmover, the Game and Fauna Service, with a portable firefighting unit, and the Paphos District Administration, with a bulldozer.
