Police in Limassol are investigating a case of attempted arson involving a car and, as part of their investigation, have arrested a 19-year-old woman.
According to the evidence under investigation, at around 11:45 p.m. on August 28, 2026, a 63-year-old man discovered that the rear left tire of his car had been damaged, while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of the apartment building where he resides, in Limassol.
An investigation conducted by police officers at the scene revealed that the damage was caused by an attempt to set the vehicle on fire.
During the investigation of the case, evidence emerged implicating the 19-year-old. She was located by police officers and arrested on a warrant shortly before 6:00 p.m. yesterday.
This morning, the 19-year-old was brought before the Limassol District Court, which issued an order for her to be held in custody for five days for the purposes of investigating the case.
The Limassol CID is continuing its investigation.
