Police investigations and inquiries are continuing at a rapid pace regarding the actions of hooded youths yesterday around 10 p.m., who set tires on fire at the Kolonaki Street roundabout in Germasogeia, causing disruption and concern among passing drivers and citizens.
Lefteris Kyriakou, Assistant Police Director of Limassol and Spokesperson for the Limassol Police Department, stated that authorities are collecting witness statements, evidence, and footage from closed-circuit surveillance cameras installed in the area, in an effort to identify and locate the perpetrators.

As he explained, the police are investigating the possibility that the incident is related to fan-related issues or the conscription of young people into the National Guard.
Mr. Kyriakou noted that immediately after receiving information about the youths’ actions, the action plan to combat juvenile delinquency was put into effect, and police officers rushed to the scene. However, upon seeing the patrol cars, the hooded youths fled.
The youths’ actions came to light through videos posted on social media.
