The attempted murder of the 33-year-old—a man who had never come to the attention of the police—set off red alerts among the authorities.
It appears that the mastermind behind the plot wanted to shift the balance of power in Ayia Napa, targeting a well-known local businessman who is currently serving a prison sentence at the Central Prison.

Who ordered the hit? Who pulled the trigger? And why was the 33-year-old targeted?
One thing is certain: based on the plan for the criminal act, the perpetrators wanted him dead.
The perpetrators opened a barrage of fire on his vehicle, shooting relentlessly at the driver’s side, and the driver was saved literally at the last moment.
According to Alpha’s sources, bullets penetrated the vehicle, jammed the car’s systems, and caused it to come to a stop a few meters further down the road.
Sources report that there is significant footage from closed-circuit surveillance cameras, which is being examined framein an effort by investigators to track down the perpetrators, who remain at large.

“The police investigation into the case is in full swing. All evidence is being evaluated.”
Police
Investigators collected more than 15 shell casings from the scene. The evidence, as well as the vehicle used by the perpetrators, has been sent for forensic analysis.

The “attack”
The police took a statement from the victim, who reported that he has no disputes with anyone. Statements were also taken from his family and professional circles in an effort to determine the motive behind the attack. The 33-year-old’s brother, who is currently in prison for the quadruple murder in Ayia Napa, is also expected to give a statement.
It cannot be ruled out that the attack was a message to the 33-year-old’s brother as retaliation for his business activities in the district. If confirmed, this would once again violate the unwritten laws of the night.
