The arrest of the 46-year-old construction contractor and the 53-year-old concrete pump operator, 53, as part of an investigation into a case of causing death due to reckless, negligent, or dangerous conduct, the police have proceeded on the basis of court warrants.
It should be noted that at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, in an area of Pegeia, where concrete was being poured at a construction site under circumstances that are under investigation, the boom of the pump being used to pour ready-mix concrete severed two overhead power lines.
During the incident, Konstantinos Posnagkof, 52, from Georgia, who was working at the site, was injured and transported to Paphos General Hospital, where he died.
The police, in cooperation with the Labor Inspection Department, are continuing their investigation.
