The police maintained a strong presence and carried out extensive operations on Wednesday night, arresting ten individuals for various offenses, including breaking and entering, theft, assault, illegal stay in the Republic, traffic violations, as well as outstanding court-ordered fines.
As part of these operations, 497 vehicles were stopped for inspection overnight, and 639 individuals traveling in them were checked. At the same time, 48 premises were inspected to address violations, resulting in five complaints.
During the traffic checks that were carried out, 366 citations were issued for various traffic violations, and twelve cases of traffic violations are currently under investigation. As part of the police investigations, eight vehicles were impounded.
Of the reports filed for traffic violations, 109 concerned speeding. Seven reports were filed for driving under the influence of alcohol, while three cases of driving under the influence of drugs were identified following preliminary drug tests. A total of 131 drivers were tested for driving under the influence of alcohol, while five drivers were tested for driving under the influence of drugs.
Law enforcement operations, aimed at crime prevention and suppression, continue daily, with an enhanced police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
