The pilot program for the Technical High School, which we launched in 2025 in Limassol and Nicosia, was met with an exceptionally positive response from our students, exceeding all our expectations, said President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides, announcing its expansion to Paphos and the free district of Famagusta.
In a video message regarding the expansion of the Technical High School program, the President noted that “our students have learned through hands-on experience how new technologies are linked to creativity, how education relates to the needs of the modern world, and how the Technical Gymnasium helps them discover their skills, aptitudes, and interests. “How it helps them, in practice, to gain self-confidence. To chart their own course. To pursue their dreams.”
He added that “for all these reasons, we have decided that starting with the new school year, the Technical Gymnasium will expand to Paphos and the free district of Famagusta.”
“I am truly delighted with the positive results of our investment in technical education and the enthusiastic response from our students,” he continued.
He emphasized that last year, enrollment in our Technical Schools exceeded 5,000, and interest is growing year by year.
“This is, without a doubt, concrete proof that technical education is rightfully earning the trust of our society and taking its rightful place,” he said.
“Our goal is clear,” President Christodoulides continued, adding that “every child, every student, has meaningful choices, equal opportunities, and all the tools needed to showcase their skills and make the most of their talent.”
“Cyprus is changing, ensuring that every child can find their own path. By giving every child the opportunity to realize their potential,” he concluded.
