The installation of traffic lights and crosswalks on Ellados Avenue in Aradippou has been completed after four months of work.
Reporter Eleni Fanari visited the site with her camera crew from the Alpha Kalimera show, where she spoke with the Mayor of Aradippou.
The project was carried out at the municipality’s expense and on its initiative, with Mr. Christodoulos Partou noting that “after a great deal of pressure, we obtained approvals from all departments and managed to complete this project in record time—it was built in just four months.”
This is a road where several traffic accidents had occurred, and the mayor pointed out that it is fortunate the work was completed before a fatal accident took place.
He also clarified that these are traffic lights and not traffic cameras.
It should be noted that as of Tuesday, June 23, the traffic-light-controlled intersection of Ellados Avenue with Ibykou, Sergiou, and Vakhou Streets became operational.
The traffic-light-controlled intersections of Ellados Avenue with Georgiou Theotoka Street and of Ellados Avenue with Iakovou Patatsou Street will become operational within the next few days, following the completion of final technical tests and adjustments.
